Dies on way to Hyderabad due to heart attack

Hyderabad, November 18, 2007

Owner of Akruti Printing Press, U Nageswara Rao, who was kidnapped from his Marrredpally residence a couple of days ago died mysteriously after being rescued by the city police on Sunday. Reports say that he died due to heart attack.

According to police sources, Nageswara Rao was confined in a hideout in the hillocks at Rallapally village of Gagadharam Mandal in Karimnagar district. The police began serious investigation and were able to rescue him and arrest the four kidnappers involved in the kidnapping. However, while Nageswara Rao and the arrested persons were taking to Hyderabad in a jeep, Nageswara Rao got a heart attack and died on way to Hyderabad, according to Karimnagar District SP Gangadhar.

Nageswara Rao was kidnapped from his residence at Asha Kala Residency at Krishnapuri Colony in Marredpally a couple of days back. Four unidentified persons had bundled him into a Tata Sumo and sped away. According to reliable sources, the four abductors were identified as Tirupati, Jitender, Gouraiah and Prasad. The family members of the victim had received a telephone call demanding a ransom of Rs.2.50 crore as ransom. SP Gangadhar maintained that the police had identified the abductors and that they should leave him unharmed. He said that there are no external injuries on the body of the victim and it appears that after being rescued, he suffered a stroke because of stress, said the Karimnagar Superintendent of Police.
