Hyderabad, November 15, 2007

The forest officials seized 10 tonnes of red sanders worth Rs.16 lakh near Rajapulova in Bhogapuram mandal on Thursday after intercepting a lorry.

Two persons including the lorry driver were arrested. The Divisional Forest Officer, BV Ramana Babu said that the officials stumbled upon red sanders while conducting a routine check. The seized sanders was being transported from Allagadda in Kurnool district to Bhubaneswar.
