Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Creativity to come up in Hyderabad

Institute to be set up by Ministry of Science and Technology

Hyderabad, November 15, 2007

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Creativity will come up at Hayatnagar and be set up by the Ministry of Science and Technology shortly. This will impart education, nurture research driven by industry and forge relationships with prominent institutions and organizations across the world.

A presentation of the Project was made to the Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday. The Chief Minister approved the proposal in principle and the State Government will provide the required land for it and the foundation will be laid in the next year.

This will work on the lines of National Innovation Foundation, National Institute of Design, Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions to impart education and training, conduct research, nurture innovation and render creativity application services. This is expected to attract increased investments in the State by the MNCs and NRIs in research and development. Advisor of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, AS Rao and member secretary Ch Venkata Ramana Devi and others were present on the occasion.
