Land acquisition gains momentum for power plant

Rs.120 crore to be paid to displaced farmers

Nellore, November 10, 2007

Reliance Power that emerged as the lowest bidder for 4,000 MW Ultra Mega Power Project and the efforts to hand over the acquired land gained momentum with the district administration decided to pay compensation of Rs.120 crore to hundreds of farmers on December 3, 2007.

Nearly 2,532 acres of land has been requisitioned for Krishnapatnam thermal power project which includes construction, operation and maintenance of power plants based on super critical technology. The integrated steel project will commence construction in December after acquiring the required land according to the District Collector M Ravi Chandra.
