TDP and Left parties stages dharna and rasta roko
Vijayanagaram, May 7, 2007The transfer of Y Rana within two days of her assuming charge as Project Officer of ITDA, Parvathipuram has sparked protests by the TDP and Left parties. The Joint Collector M. Jaganmohan has taken over in charge Project Officer and will hold the office till a full time officer is posted. Before posted as Project Officer, she was earlier sub collector of Bhadrachalam and was quickly transferred without giving any posting.
The TDP, Left Parties and tribal unions suspect political motives behind the transfer. They stage a dharna near the ITDA office at Parvathipuram and rasta roko at the RTC Complex in protest against the government's decision. Speaking the gathering, the MLA Lakshmana Murty said some political forces who did not want Rana to be posted as Project Officer at Parvathipuram got her transferred. He warned that the agitation would be intensified if the transfer orders are not withdrawn.
