Tainted SP Murali placed under suspension

Murali was arrested on April 29 on charges of graft by ACB

The State Government has placed the Visakhapatnam Rural SP JG Murali on suspension. Murali who is in jail since April 29 following the arrest by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on charges of amassing wealth and misusing his official position. Raids on properties believed to be belonging to Murali and his close associates and family members were raided at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bangalore and other places.

The Principal Home Secretary said that his suspension was in accordance with the service rules applicable to Government servants. Murali will be in judicial custody till May 11, 2007.
