Cent percent subsidy for Horticulture farmers

Government makes announcement

Hyderabad, May 4, 2007

The State Government on Friday announced cent percent subsidy to the small and marginal farmers to give a boost to the Horticulture sector. The new scheme that comes into existence on Friday enables the small and marginal farmers to cultivate horticulture crops up to five acres with full subsidy. Farmer will be supplied saplings, fertilizers and paid labor charges Drip and irrigation systems would be provided to the farmers at 70 percent subsidy.

The Minister for Agriculture, N. Raghuveera Reddy at a press conference said that the scheme and other initiatives for the farm sector. He said one lakh farmers will be brought under horticulture sector during this year. He also said that thrust will be on promotion of bio diesel plantation for which the facility is extended to horticulture. He added that Rythu Chaitanya yatras from May 17 will be conducted.
