ACB conduts raids on City Planners houses

Raids in three districts and seized documents

Vijayawada, May 31, 2007

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday conducted raids on the houses of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Town Planning Officer D Venkataratnam. They conducted raids at his residence in Brundavan colony along with the native town house in West Godavari. They seized Rs. 38.20 lakhs worth of documents whose market value is more than Rs. 2 crores. He was arrested by the officials and send him to remand.

In another case, the CBI has caught red handedly one S Vijaya Kumar , an Income Tax Officer in Warangal while accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000 for doing an official favour. He was arrested and will be produced in the special court for CBI in Hyderabad according to CBI officials.
