Two units to generate power from garbage
Hyderabad, May 30, 2007
The State government on Wednesday cleared setting up of two Municipal solid waste power projects one each at Hyderabad and another one at Visakhapatnam. Visakha Energy Systems will set up a 6.6 MW project at Kapulappada of Bheemili mandal in Visakhapatnam while RDF Power Projects will come up with 11 MW project at Chinnaravulapali of Bibinagar mandal in Nalgonda district.
These two companies have to enter into memorandum of understanding with respective municipal corporations. And the companies will get Rs. 3.40 per unit of power produced after deducting the wheeling charges.
At a review meeting held, the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy has cleared the proposals. It has also been decided to give clearance for vegetable waste power project at Chirala according to sources.
