Human Trafficking racket progresses
Hyderabad, May 30, 2007The city police after undergoing intense grilling for nearly ten days has handed over Rasheed, the prime accused in human trafficking racket was handed over to Delhi police on Wednesday evening. The Delhi police took him into custody from Chanchalguda Central Jail.
A team of Delhi Police crime branch led by Inspector of Police Arvind Kumar landed in the city a couple of days ago an filed a petition in the city court seeking his custody. The Delhi police crime branch is investigating the infamous Babubhai Katara human smuggling case. The Court granted ten days custody of Rasheed an after completing the formalities at the prison, the Delhi police took Rasheed into custody.
In Babubhai Katara case, the Delhi police already arrested two persons in the city. With Rasheed revealing the names of several political leaders and his connections with vis brokers in Gujarat and other parts of the country during interrogation by the Hyderabad Police, the Delhi police is of the opinion to question Rasheed to get more information in Babubhai Katara case.
