Protests against classification of SCs
East Godavari, May 25, 2007The State President of Mala Mahanadu K Shivaji began fast unto death on Friday in protest against classification of Scheduled Castes into A, B, C and D categories. He began his fast from a house of an SC.
He launched his stir by bolting the house from inside as police deployed forces in large numbers. At one point of time, the police tried to break his fast, a few women poured an threatened to immolate themselves.
Meanwhile, Shivaji cautioned the police that he would commit suicide if the police try to disturb his agitation.
