Hyderabad, May 23, 2007

Police commissioner Balwinder Singh has issued orders for the transfer to two inspectors who were in the duty when the Mecca masjid blasts happened. The police inspectors are believed to have issued the orders for firing to disperse the mob that came out few minutes after a bomb blasted at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on May 18.

The Moghalpura Inspector E Ramachandra Reddy and Falaknuma Inspector P Sudhakar are transferred to the Police Control Room. Speaking with the press, the Police Commissioner said that the decision to transfer the two inspectors was taken to facilitate the investigation as to why the firing is necessitated to disperse the mobs. It may be recalled that five died in the firing by the police.
