Team to be headed by Joint Commissioner
Hyderabad, May 21, 2007A Special Investigation Cell headed by a Joint Commissioner comprising nine officers has been constituted to take the probe forward with the Andhra Pradesh Police claiming to have secure the definite clues about the persons or groups involved in the blast that claimed 14 lives.
According to unofficial sources suggested that a couple of persons were picked up from West Bengal and one from Jharkhand on suspicion. However, the West Bengal police denied that the Andhra Pradesh police team was in the state as part of the investigation though information emanating from different sources suggested that two persons involved in sale of mobile phones were picked up in the State whose borders with Bangladesh are suspected to be porous enough to allow infiltration of terror network operations.
The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh speaking to media, while denying that any one was arrested said that they would be able to come to conclusion within a week's time. He added that the information of a special Investigation Cell to be headed by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) HK Gupta. He said that there were some definite clues in the case and the details regarding the two SIM cards used in the mobile phones attached to to the Improvise Explosive Device and refused to divulge further details.
