Hyderabad, May 21, 2007

The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy convened an all party meeting on SC Categorization on Monday to discuss the issue on which Manda Krishna Madiga has been on indefinite fast since the past five days. The meeting was attended by TDP, Congress, CPI, BJP,BSP, Swamajwadi Party and CPI-ML.

The All-Party meeting unanimously passed a resolution and the Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy made strong plea to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to direct the National Commission constituted for purpose of classifying the Scheduled Castes to submit its report with in three months.

The Government and all political parties arrived at a consensus to urge the Centre to fix three month deadline for the commission to submit its report so that the members of the Madia Community would not lose employment and educational opportunities for a third consecutive year.
