Chief Minister directs the District Collector to provide assistance
Adilabad, May 14, 2007Twenty four members of a marriage party died and over two dozen injured severally in a ghastly road accident at Rolemamada village in Neredigonda Mandal on Monday when a van in which they were traveling collided with an oncoming truck.
According to sources, the marriage party covered hardly six kilometers of distance, when the mishap occurred. The impact of the accident is so severe that nearly twenty persons died on the spot. The injured were admitted into various hospitals and the condition of many of them said to be serious. The traffic came to a halt for nearly one and half hours due to the accident.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy expressed shock and grief over the accident directed the District Collector to provide all necessary medical assistance to the injured. He conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.
