BJP and TDP leaders says Congress rule is anti farmer

Leaders share stage at farmer meet at Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 12, 2007

Leaders of the Bharateeya Janata Party (BJP) and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) termed the Congress party-led rule in the state as 'anti-farmer'. TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu questioned as to how Congress can claim itself as a party that brought reforms to the farmers when as many as 4081 farmers committed suicides during the three years of Congress rule.

BJP State Unit President Bandaru Dattatreya felt that the Jalayagnam program is misused by Congress leaders for their own benefits. The farmers meet was organized by Bharateeyam, an organization working for the farmer community in the state.
