Says MLA Lingaiah introduced Rasheed
Hyderabad, May 11, 2007The TRS MLA S Bapurao who surrendered before the Central Crime Station (CCS) officials was produced before the Nampally Criminal court on Friday and he was remanded to judicial custody till May 25. He in a statement, admitted that he was offered Rs. 35 lakhs by Rasheed. He told the investigating officers that another TRS MLA K Lingaiah had introduced him to Rasheed.
In his statement, he said that Rasheed offered to pay Rs.5 lakhs as advance. However, Bapurao claimed that neither he nor his wife or children travelled abroad and said that his wife innocent and she signed the papers only on his instance.
Meanwhile, the Central Crime Station officials are questioning Rasheed and another accused Muzaffar Ali to identify other persons involved in the scam.
