APSRTC proposed strike called off

MD assures to resolve regularization of casual/contract labourers

The APSRTC Employees Union on Thursday called off its proposed strike from the midnight of May 11 following an understanding with the Manging Director of the APSRTC, V Dinesh Reddy said the union's major demand of regularization of casual/contract labour would be solved soon.

As for the other demands, the management on Wednesday agreed to release Rs. 12 crore towards different allowances to over 1.12 lakh regular employees and an installment of dearness allowance with May salary apart from ordering payment of bonus/ex-gratia to eligible employees on May 12 subject to a maximum of Rs. 2500.
