Government issues order to this effect

Hyderabad, May 1, 2007

The existing ban on transfer of Government employees, teachers and other has been temporarily lifted for a month from May 1 to 31 to facilitate request transfers according to the orders issued by Finance department on Tuesday.

The Finance department Principal Secretary, P Ramakantha Reddy however clarified that detailed guidelines would be issued separately. Separate guidelines will be issued to the staff of Panchayat Raj, Commercial taxes, Transport, Registration, Excise and Forest departments.

The transfer orders effected after the latest orders will be subject to GO No.610 indicating that the local status of the employee would be considered strictly in relation to his native zone. It is mandatory for the employees seeking transfer to have put in minimum of two years service at the place. The department has directed the concerned officials not to retain an employee whose stay at a place for more than five years and restrict the number of transfers to twenty percent.
