Hyderabad, March 6, 2007

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has fielded new faces in the forthcoming MLC elections. The TDP Parliamentary Leader K. Yerram Naidu announced five candidates viz., Siddha Raghava Rao from Ongole, Bommidi Narayana Rao from Bhimavaram, Ibrahim bin Masquati from Hyderabad, Masala Padmaja from Kurnool and Pogaku Yadagiri from Adilabad.

Though it is speculated that the party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu ignored the senior leaders to accommodate BCs, SCs and minorities. The party has strength of 45 MLAs.

Meanwhile, the TRS decided to field MA Rahaman and A. Sudhakar Rao from the MLAs constituency as the March 7, 2007 is the last date for filing nominations.
