To create awareness among the public

Hyderabad, March 31, 2007

Nearly a two dozen non governmental organizations under the banner of United Forum of RTI Campaign-AP would undertake an aggressive campaign in various districts of the State from May 16 to 26 to create awareness among the public to make the authorities accountable and Right to Information Act, 2005.

The Volunteers of the Forum would not just spread awareness among the public about the RTI but also facilitate in filing the applications, Magsaysay award winner Sandeep Pandey said to media. Jana Chaitanya Vedia State general secretary N. Nagendra Babu said that though the Act came into force a year and half ago, just 2800 applications were filed with the State Information Commission.
