President and EC issues orders
Hyderabad, March 29, 2007After a gap of two decades, the State Legislative Council will meet on April 2, 2007 even though the counting of votes polled by candidates from Local Authorities Constituencies was kept pending. The President and Election Commission have issued orders to this effect and the State Cabinet was informed on Thursday.
The Minister for Information Mohd. Ali Shabbier speaking to media said the session of the Council would start at 8.30am on the first day to be chaired by a protem chairman. Members would take oath and a Chairman would be elected. The Governor Rameshwar Thakur would address the council.
He said that the Council session would last till April 9. The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy would reply later to the debate on motion of thanks to the Governor's address.
