Hyderabad, March 29, 2007The Nizam College Grounds was packed with party workers and leaders on the eve of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The loud speaker blared unforgettable songs for which the founder of the party late NT Rama Rao was known for it. TDP Party President Nara Chandrababu Naidu has cut a huge cake weighing 25 kgs to mark the inauguration of the celebrations.
The two-month long Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the TDP began with the leaders on the dais expressing confidence that they would come back to power in the year 2009 elections. The leaders expressed their several instances of alleged several instances of corruption by the Congress party in the name of Jala Yagnam and encroachment of lands. Senior TDP leader N. Janadhana Reddy in his speech alleged that the Congress leaders have filled with their bags with the public money in the name of Jala Yagnam and other schemes.
Speeches of the leaders listed out the misrule of the Congress Government. There was steady stream of volunteers to donate blood and pledge their eyes at special camps conducted in huge tent behind the dais. Two huge cut outs of NTR and Chandrababu Naidu greeted the supporters.
