Speaker asks for an explanation for his resignation

Hurt over the comment on him as black sheep, the Kovvur Telugu Desam Party MLA P Krishna Babu resigned from the Assembly on Saturday. He submitted his papers to the Speaker KR Suresh Reddy while the House was in session in the morning but retracted later after persuasion by his party colleagues.

Meanwhile, the Speaker confirmed that he received the resignation papers. He said that it will not be accepted unless there is a satisfactory explanation from the member in person and asked him to meet him in his chambers. But he did not turn up.
