Congress and TDP happy while TRS despondent
Hyderabad, March 23, 2007Celebrations and jubilation was visible in the faces of leaders of the the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) while TRS went into retrospection moon on Friday. Jubilant scenes were witnessed in the Congress camp as its 20 candidates came out victorious in the MLC Elections. Newly elected MLCs met the Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and PCC President K Keshava Rao and also CPI MPs Suravaam Sudhakar Reddy and Aziz Pasha also called on Keshava Rao.
Meanwhile, K Keshava Rao urged the Election Commission to permit counting of votes for the Council elections from the Local Authorities Constituiences (LAC) and withhold results from places whee complaints were being investigated.
In TRS camp, party leaders G Vijaya Rama Rao and N Narasimha Reddy attributed the defeat of its candidate Sudharshan Rao to conspiracy by Andhra lobbies including the BJP and betrayal by one of their MLAs.
