Unions reaches understating with IBA
Hyderabad, March 21, 2007
The proposed three days strike by the Bank unions from March 28 on Wednesday called off following an understanding with Indian Banks Association on their demands relating to pension, outsourcing, compassionate appointments and recruitments.
Had the strike not called off, the banking operations would have disrupted almost during the next week as tax payments for 2006-07 have to be made by March 31, 2007.
The Union leaders however, maintained that they have not called off their strike but only deferring the strike and can be revived anytime if the promises made by the IBA are not met.
