Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to distribute awards

Hyderabad, March 20, 2007

The Upper Silver Hydro Power Station and the Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (VTPS) have bagged the comprehensive awards of the Central Government for 2005-06. Besides, the Upper Siler Hydro Thermal Power Station and the Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station have bagged the award for 2004-2005 also.

The Prime Minister, Manmhan Singh will give away both the awards at a function in New Delhi on March 21. AP Genco chairman and Managing Director will receive the awards on behalf of the generation company according to a press release. Meanwhile, AP Transco bagged the gold shied for its transmission system for 2005-06. The Transco Chairman Rachel Chatterjee will receive the gold shield from the Prime Minister in the function
