Hyderabad, March 18, 2007

To help the children affected with polio, the Life Insurance Corporation of India on Sunday donated Rs. 60 lakhs for providing calipers in the jurisdiction of South Central Zonal Office. LIC South Central Zone Zonal Manager T. Chattopadhyay handed over a letter of commitment to the Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy at his camp office.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the LIC of India South Central Zone Office and Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) with regard to physically challenged.

Speaking on the occasion, Chattopadhyay said that LIC as part of its social security activity has taken up the programme of providing calipers to the polio affected children in the State in a phased manner.
