Awards to be given as part of Sarwajit Ugadi

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will present Kala Ratna awards to seven eminent persons on the eve of Sarwajit Ugadi, Telugu New Year's Day at a function in Ravindra Bharati on Monday.
The Chairman of the State Cultural Council Dharmavarapu Subramanyam said on Saturday that CVB Subramanyam, Professor and Dean of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University would perform the traditional 'Panchagasravanam'.
The awardees are Balanthrapu Rajanikantha Rao (Music), Ravui Bharadwaja and MS Reddy (literature) Deepika Reddy (Kuchipudi dance) Chandra (Painting), Ganapathi Sthapati (Sculpture) and Chindu Neelamma (Folk arts). The awards carry a swan replica, a citation, a shawl and Rs. 30,000 in cash.
