Court dismisses revision petition
Hyderabad, March 14, 2007
In another set back to Margadarsi Financers, the first additional metropolitan sessions judge on Wednesday dismissed the revision petition filed by the company against the orders passed by the first additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate a few days ago. The magistrate had earlier ordered search of Margadarsi premises and seizure of records of its business.
Margadarsi Financers sought stay on the searches undertaken by the investigating agencies and as the first Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate was reluctant to entertain it, the Margadarsi Financiers filed a revision petition in the court of the First Additional Metropolitan session Judge.
The court while dismissing the revision petition, gave liberty to Margadarsi Financers to approach the magistrate for original documents that had been seized and kept with the investigating officers in case they were required for repayment to the depositors. The Court further said there was no illegality or irregularity in the order of the first additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and there was no scope for interference in the matter. The Court had given permission to the investigating authorities to continue searches.
