Says all cases disposed off
Hyderabad, March 12, 2007The City Police Commissioner, Balwinder Singh speaking to media said that all the six cases registered against Mir Hasan Ali some 15 years ago had been disposed off and none was pending against him as of now.
In 1990, the Manager of State Bank of India, Charminar Branch had lodged a complaint with the Mirchowk Police stating that Ali had availed himself of credit worth Rs. 47 lakhs on three occasions against cheques, which later bounced. The case had been transferred to the Central Crime Station. The Commissioner however, confessed before Income Tax officials in Pune the frauds he committed in the city in early 1990s.
A team of police from Mumbai and Pune are likely to arrrive the city to seek details of the case. In this context, a senior official commented that the media was putting on the amount of tax evasion of Rs. 35,000 crores was an exaggeration. Meanwhile, the divorced wife of Hasan Ali on Monday submitted a petition to the Banjara Hills police seeking intervention to control the media, which was unnecessary dragging her name in the issue.
