ACB unearths Rs. 50 lakh assets
Hyderabad, June 7, 2007The officials of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 50 lakhs belong to YV Subba Reddy, Divisional Panchayat Officer at Madanapalle in Chittoor district.
The ACB conducted simultaneous searches at the residences of the accused officer and his relatives revealed that he owned a house at Koikuntla in Kurnool district, a flat at Tirupati, six plots and over four acres of agricultural lands in addition to nine LIC policies worth over Rs. 4 lakh, a car and golden ornaments and fixed deposits worth Rs. 1.20 lakh. The officials of ACB are yet to open a bank locker.
In another incident, the ACB officials trapped K Shankar, Deputy Executive Engineer, of rural water supply scheme working in Panchayat Raj Department in Karimnagar when he accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant to do an official favour and he was arrested.
