Award presented for the exemplary work in afforestation

According to a press release, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has received the prestigious Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Award-2004 in the corporate sector from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. He award was presented to the SCCL Chairman and Managing Director jointly by Ministers of State for Environment and Forests Namo Narain Meena and S Raghupathy in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The award was presented in recognition of the exemplary work and innovative measures in the field of afforestation and wasteland development in the corporate sector. SCCL has been playing a proactive role in environment protection and is endeavoring in integrating environment management as a part of production process.
