New recruitments primarily for the rural sector
Hyderabad, June 29, 2007At a review meeting on the health and seasonal conditions on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the Government has decided to recruit 969 doctors and 757 nurses and other para medical staff to improve health services in the remote areas.
He directed the Department heads to extend additional financial support and service benefits to the doctors who opt to serve in the agency areas. However, they will be confined to Agency areas only. Nearly 150 doctors will be recruited in the Agency areas alone.
Speaking to media, the Health Minister S Chandrasekhar said that steps are being taken to stock adequate medicines in all the 1575 primary medical centres in the State as Rs. 157 crore have been earmarked in the budged for the purpose. Health workers have been directed to conduct house to house survey and awareness will also be created on sanitation in villages.
