Chief Minister lays foundation stone for Telangana University Building
Nizamabad, June 28, 2007
The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy laid the foundation stone of the Telangana University building on Thursday morning. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Rs. 20 crore has been earmarked for the university in the current budget and the remaining Rs. 80 crore will be released in the coming couple of years. He said that necessary steps would be taken to introduce PG Courses in Urdu language.
Speaking at the gathering, he announced that the government has already decided to set up six airports in the State and one airport would come up in the district under public-private partnership. In a bid to take information technology to rural areas, IT centres are being set up in the districts and one of them would be in the district.
Prominent persons attended the function includes Speaker KR Suresh Reddy, the Minister for Higher Education D Srinivas, Minister for Energy Mohd Ali Shabbir, IT Minister R Damodar Reddy and several MLAs attended the programme.
