Suspension on the charges of detection of irregularities committed
Hyderabad, June 26, 2007Twenty three officials of the housing programme being implemented under Indiramma have been suspended following detection of irregularities committed by them. A few of them have been dismissed from the service. The employees punished included a deputy engineer, four assistant engineers and several work inspectors. Three of them were at Nuzvid in Krishna district from where the latest case of irregularities came to light.
At a press conference held on Tuesday, the Housing Minister B Satyanarayana announced these details. He asserted that there was no corruption involved in the implementation of the housing programme and deny the charges made by CPI (M) State secretary BV Raghavulu that the programme was a big scam.
The minister said that the programme as made so transparent that the details of the beneficiaries and payments made against the bills for the constructed houses were all provided online. Any person could verify them. He ruled out the possibility of appointing another committee to oversee the allotment of house sites in the State as Assignment Committees already in place.
