Andhra Pradesh Government hikes flood relief amount

13,352 houses reported to be damaged during recent floods

The Andhra Pradesh State Government has decided to increase the flood relief amount. Flood victims who lost their house (complete damage to the house) would now get Rs. 4000 instead of the earlier Rs. 2000. Similarly those who have their house severely damaged will be compensated at Rs. 3000 instead of the earlier relief of Rs. 1200.

An assessment report on the recent floods has put 7.12 lakh people as effected and 13,352 houses damaged. Media reports say that the floods have let a loss of Rs. 190 crores for the state.
