State Government issues fresh guidelines on repatriation of non locals

All employee unions consulted before issuing guidelines

Hyderabad, June 21, 2007

The State Government after consulting all employees unions on Thursday issued a circular extending an opinion to all the non local employees in the given unit of appointments for repatriation to their respective cadres. The government has asked the heads of departments to invite applications from the non locals for repatriation, the State Government directed them to issue the transfer orders by June 30.

According to the fresh circular, the government reversed the criterion of repatriation of non locals to 'first to come, first to go'. If the number of requests for return to the native places exceed the number of non locals, the senior most will be repatriated first. In the absence of clear vacancy in the local cadre to which the non local employee is to be transferred, the identified employees will be sent on deputation as per his consent or on other duty.

The transferred non local constables approached the tribunal claiming that Hyderabad City Police Act is exempted from the Presidential Order. They also contended that Hyderabad was a free zone. The Tribunal posted the matter to for the next Thursday. Meanwhile, T Harish Rao alleged that the constables approached the court at the instance of the government.
