Hyderabad, June 18, 2007

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Monday demanded the government to come out with a white paper on the irrigation projects in Telangana region giving details of funds allotted and spent, allocation of water and additional area brought into cultivation during the last three years.

Speaking at a press conference, the TDP leader Devender Goud, R Chandrasekhara Reddy and P Yadagiri said that the government is coming with false promises, anding the river water and irrigation system by diverting river water from one basin to another and turning Telangana into a desert.
