Chief Minister directs the officials
Hyderabad, June 18, 2007The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday has directed the officials to commence laying of pipelines for supply of cooking gas to houses in 23 towns in the State . He set the deadline as December 2008.
The Chief Minister reviewing the progress of the recently created Krishna Godavari Gas Network Limited (KGGNL) project said that the first phase of the gas pipeline project should be completed by the next year. The first phase includes Kakinada-Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam gas distribution works.
Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation is the gas supplying agency for the project that is estimated to cost Rs. 4,800 core. The State Government's equity in the project is Rs. 63 crore of which Rs. 30 crore have been allocated in the budget. The Chief Minister has decided to request the Union Ministry of Petroleum and natural gas to give clearance to KGGNL project.
