Kola is linked with Euro Lottery Scam
Vijayawada, June 14, 2007It may be recalled that Kola Krishnamohan who conned people into believing that he had won Rs. 80 lakh Euro lottery during 2000 and had cheated the government, banks and individuals. The Third Metropolitan Magistrate Ch Rajagopala Rao has delivered the verdict on Thursday. Krishnamohan was sentenced to four years rigorous imprisonment and Rs. 20,000 fine and in default of which another nine months of simple imprisonment on four counts of forgery, cheating n criminal intimidation in two separate cases. However, the magistrate has set off the period he has already served in judicial remand which is 20 months in each case. Thus, he would have to undergo RI for just another four months each in both the cases.
He had already been convicted in one case for two year RI by a Guntur court and two cases were disposed on Thursday. Verdict is awaited in another two cases by Visakhapatnam courts. Thursday cases pertained to the complaint of Andhra Bank that it had been cheated to the tune of Rs. 17 lakhs and the complaints of Kolli Gandhi and Nandamuri Venugopal that they had been cheated to the tune of Rs. 45 and Rs. 21 lakhs respectively.
