Chandrababu accuses Congress for pulling his name in Paul-row

Questions need for airport in Jammalamadugu

Vijayawada, June 12, 2007

Former Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President Nara Chandrababu Naidu criticized the Congress for dragging his name into the KA Paul-row. He said that the party is trying to suppress the opposition and is indulging in anti-democratic policies. Naidu spoke briefly with the press at the Gannavaram Airport after completing a series of interaction meetings with the party cadre in the Godavari districts.

Naidu questioned the need for an airport at Jammalamadugu. He felt that the Chief Minister is keen of the airport because it will be setup in his district and more importantly because it will benefit Brahmani Steels. He said that the Government would rather focus on the development of the Visakhapatnam Port that needs much attention.
