Barely a day after Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the Congress was prepared to go it alone in the next elections, APCC President D Srinivas, on his part, came up with a statement that the door of the party are always open to all opposition parties except the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharateeya Janatha Party (BJP).

Ruckus over denial of passage of YSR's brother's car

Hyderabad, July 8, 2007

The supporter of Khairatabad MLA P Janardhana Reddy and that of YS Rajasekhara Reddy's brother YS Ravindranath Reddy almost clashed following a ruckus over denial of passage to a car on a narrow road in Jubilee Hills. According to sources, Ravindranath Reddy and his son wee passing through Road No.10, where he lives and also where Janardhana Reddy had come to attend his daughter's house warming ceremony.

The MLA's son Vishnuvardhan Reddy reportedly got irked over YS Sumadhur Reddy honking away leading to an argument that turned violent. Following a complaint from Ravinranath Reddy, police brought the MLA's son to the police station who was accompanied by his father, mother and aunt.

Meanwhile, the supporters of the MLA reached the police station and raised slogans against Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The police in a bid to clear off the street are left no alternative but to use lathi charge on them. One person was reportedly got injured in the incident. The high drama around Jubilee Hills police station appeared to come to an end slightly after midnight with police telling that he could leave. The police held three of the six names involved in the incident.
