4th Military World Games activity heats up in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, July 8, 2007
The Minister for State for Defence MM Pallam Raju on Sunday flagged off 'Chalo Hyderabad Rally' on the eve of 4th Military World Games scheduled to be held in October this year. The Chief of Army Staff General JJ Singh, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Suresh Mehta, Tourism Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Chief Secretary J Harinarayana and Director General of Police MA Basith were present on the occasion.
The Rally will travel more than 2000 kms across the 23 dist5ricts in the State to generate interest and support for the games. The rally will also take up the cause of Ex-servicemen located across the State to highlight their plight by organizing the meets.
Organized with the theme, 'Friendship through sport' the rally will organize medical camps and awareness campaign on AIDS/HIV, health and sanitation. The participants will also participant in friendly football, kabaddi, volleyball and handball matches wherever possible.
