Khammam, July 3, 2007
A person who went into the waters of River Godavari to collect teak logs met his end with the river water washing him away. He is identified as Karunku Narasimha Rao from Bhadrachalam. Onlookers who saw the incident have tried their best to rescue him but failed.
The Godavari river is ticking excess inflow of water as the flood water in the North-Central India is making its way into the river - particularly the flood water from Maharashtra and the rain water from the Chattisgarh region. Water level meter at Bhadrachalam is currently ticking 33 feet.
