Khammam in the grip of bundh for the second day

Busses off road; Medical services bleak

Khammam, July 29, 2007

Normal life in the Khammam district was severely hit as bundh in the district went for the second day. With the incident of police firing happened just few hours ago in which eight people were dead, people are living their lives in tension. Shops all across the district were closed. Busses run by the state-run APSRTC were off road hitting travel in the district. Medical services are at a bleak and connectivity to the rural areas of the district were at a bare minimum.

Meanwhile, demonstrators were on the road in Mudigonda. Wraths carrying the Communist flag were laid on the dead. Communist party supporters in large numbers are paying visit and trying to console the families of the dead. Police and District Administration are trying their best to see that no untoward incident re-occurs.
