Eight persons arrested and recovered Rs. 30 lakhs

The police busted the ING Vysya Bank robbery case after a week long joint operation with the arrest of eight persons gang involved in the operation and recovered cash Rs. 30 lakhs. He gang members had intercepted a private car in the Nallamala forest between Nandyal and Giddalur on July 19 which was carrying an amount of Rs. 1 crore to Vijayawada and took away the cash.
According to police sources, a sub staff of the bank one Mallikharjuna was identified as the kingpin behind the robbery. According to information, he conspired with a gang to pass information for his share of Rs. 30 lakhs out of the robbed amount while the rest would go to the gang. He had thorough knowledge about the incident of carrying cash and pass on the same to the gang and the police analyzed the telephone conversation made by him and gathered clues.
Six police teams, three each from Prakasam and Kurnool district raided dens in several towns on Friday and arrested the accused. An amount of Rs. 30 lakhs was also recovered along with the arrest of eight persons and some persons wanted in the operation are at large.
