MRPS leader Krishna Madiga held discussions with the Chief Minister

Hyderabad, July 26, 2007

The MRPS leader Krishna Madiga held discussions with the Chief Minister in the Assembly premises on Thursday. Sources close to him said that the Chief Minister promised Manda Krishna that he would fix an appointment with the Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh who is scheduled to arrive the State Capital on July 31. The Chief Minister also assured him that he would give a representation to the Prime Minister urging the Centre to see that Usha Mehra Commission submits its report in three months. He also asked Krishna Madiga to submit a representation.

However, the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy did not concede the demand of the MRPS to stop the medical counselling till SC classification is done. He said that it would create more technical problems if counselling is stalled. However, he assured that the government will not fill up the SC backlog and DSC posts till classification is completed, said Krishna Madiga.

The MRPS state executive will meet on July 31 and August 1 and will chalk out future course of action after seeing the response of the Prime Minister. The traffic at Indira Park was paralyzed for 24 hours as the MRPS activists stayed put blocking the busy road. The activists left Indira Park at noon on Thursday.
