Police arrests four Kidnappers

Hyderabad, July 24, 2007

Some four unidentified persons abducted V Satyanarayana who is working as General Manager of Satyam Computers on Monday morning. According to available sources, Satyanarayana took his daughters Deeksha and Rishita to Geetanjali Devashray School at Sarojini Devi Road, Secunderabad at around 8.30am. After reaching the school, they got down from the car along with his daughters and asked the driver to park the car nearby. Satyanarayana did not return to the car for a long time. At about 9.40am, he called up his wife Kiranmayee and informed her that he has to attend a meeting at his office and would reach home by 11am.

Kiranmayee grew suspicious as he talked to her in a strange manner. She enquired at his office and was learnt that there was no meeting at that time. She later called up his driver as all her attempts to reach her husband failed. Satyanarayana's mobile phone is found to be switched off. She rushed to the spot where the auto drivers reportedly told her that four unidentified persons have taken him in a car.

She rushed to the Gopalapuram Police Station and lodged a complaint. The Assistant Commissioner of Police of Gopalapuram, YV Ramana said that they have registered a case of kidnap and began investigating the case. Police sources revealed that the kidnappers demanded a ranson of Rs. 20 lakhs for her husband's release. The City Police Commissioner, Balwinder Singh said that his whereabout are not known but he is safe. The Police rescued Satyanarayana who was kidnapped by the four car borne persons in Secunderabad on Tuesday. He is rescued in the Nekonda village in Warangal district late in the night. Police sources say that four persons involved in the kidnap were arrested, thanks to the tracing of mobile phone calls. The calls were traced to be from Nalgonda district. The kidnap issue ended happily with the timely and prompt action by the police.
