Obulapuram issues generates heat; 21 TDP MLAs suspended

The use of highly abusive language by the Chief Minister over the Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu, rude gesticulation at the Speaker rushing to the podium sloganeering, suspensions, walkouts and mudslinging. The issue was the first visit of the Telugu Desam Party Delegation to the Obulapuram mines in Anathapuram district two days ago and the arrest of the MLAs and MLCs of he main Opposition TDP. Alleging that the Obulapuram Mining Corporation, a private enterprise was engaged in illegal extraction of iron ore, the TDP leaders went to the spot on July 21. However, they were stopped by the police, arrested and shifted to Rayadurgam police station where the TDP leaders continued their agitation till Monday morning.
In the Assembly, the rucks began with an adjournment motion which spilled into evening session and the TDP members were suspended from the House twice during the day. Speaker, KR Suresh Reddy was visibly upset over he the behavior of the members but could do little. At one point of time, the Chief Minister pointed at Chandrababu Naidu and commented him of be ashed for having been born to your mother. He also said that he will expose him fully. The words used by the Chief Minister outburst sparked loud protest from the Opposition.
At that particular point of time, the Speaker adjourned the House and met again at 4.30pm and even then there is no change in the attitude of the members, 21 TDP MLAs were suspended from the House. Earlier, the Home Minister, K Jana Reddy claimed that the police had observed restraint at Obulapuram but the TDP MLAs behaved in an unruly manner. The TDP leader T Devender Goud made serious remarks against the Chief Minister and the Government. The Chief Minister said that he would expose Chandrababu Naidu on the issue. Later, the suspended TDP MLAs staged a dharna on the Assembly premises.
